Chronicled here will be helpful tips, valuable resources, and funny stories all about potty training. Oh, and of course, lots of sign language to integrate into this whole process!

We have lots of ideas about things to share with you, but we want to hear from you as well! Ask questions, share stories and resources. Take advantage of the great community that will be formed here and join the conversation!

So, to start out, I thought I’d introduce myself. My name is Colleen and I am your Potty Time Training Specialist. I come from a professional background of education, centering on special education, literacy, and child development. I’m so excited to be here with you to share some ideas for potty training your little one, and to hear all about what you are wondering, or maybe already know, about ways to do that.

I potty trained my now five year old son between the ages of 2 and… well, even though he started preschool at age 3 technically potty trained, he didn’t really seem quite finished for a very long time, and even now we still have to work on that “Wash, wash, scrub, scrub, I use soap and water” step (Who knows what Baby Signing Time video that is from?).

I may have lots of professional learning when it comes to child development, but nothing teaches you, or develops your patience and sense of humor, quite like doing it yourself! My kiddo did things at his own pace, mostly because playing is way more fun that stopping to go potty. And I had to develop a sense of humor when he decided to “go” in some pretty unusual places. More on that later…

I’m so excited about this program because it is teaching children to potty train using very concrete steps, great music, and of course lots of signing. All of which will combine to help them remember what to do in a fun and supportive way.

We’re so excited to have you with us and we can’t wait to hear what you think and how Potty Time works for you!

Again, welcome!
